The Friends of Swiss Jews scheme is aimed at people who feel connected to the SIG and the Jewish community in Switzerland. As a supporter, you strengthen the SIG’s work and help the association to keep carrying out its tasks effectively in the future.
As the umbrella organisation of Jewish communities, the SIG represents the interests of the Jewish community in Switzerland at the national level. Its work ranges from political advocacy and the fight against antisemitism to the promotion of culture, education and remembrance. The Friends of Swiss Jews scheme enables supporters to contribute to these activities over the long term and to strengthen the SIG’s role in a targeted manner.
Connected to Jewish life in Switzerland
The SIG is committed to ensuring equal, diverse and self-assured Jewish life in Switzerland. It strengthens the Jewish community, promotes its visibility and works to ensure that Jewish life has a firm place in Swiss society.

A strong voice in politics and society
As an umbrella organisation, the SIG represents the concerns of the Jewish community towards politicians, authorities and the public. It brings Jewish perspectives into social debates and advocates for the protection of rights, security and respect.

Combating antisemitism and promoting security
The SIG is committed to preventing antisemitism and racism. It raises awareness, shares information and works with stakeholders from the state and civil society to make Jewish life in Switzerland safe.

Preserving culture, education and remembrance
Jewish culture, education and remembrance are a central part of the SIG’s work. The association preserves Jewish cultural heritage, imparts knowledge about Jewish life in the past and present and makes an important contribution to the culture of remembrance in Switzerland.

Who can get involved with the Friends of Swiss Jews
The Friends of Swiss Jews scheme is aimed at people who feel connected to the SIG and the Jewish community in Switzerland, especially those who cannot become members of a Jewish community. It is aimed at people both in Switzerland and abroad, whether they have a Jewish or non-Jewish background. What matters most is a sense of connection to the SIG’s work and an interest in contributing to this commitment.
Supporter status offers a variety of options for supporting the SIG’s work – depending on your level of involvement, interest and commitment.
Contribution categories per year
- Individual: for people who would like to support the SIG personally. CHF 100 per year
- Couple/family: for couples or families who want to express their shared commitment. CHF 150 per year
- Donor: for people who would like to make a larger financial contribution to the SIG. From CHF 500 per year
Contributions go directly to the SIG’s work and are not tax-deductible. Donations to the SIG-Zukunftsstiftung are still tax-deductible. They go towards the SIG’s charitable projects, but do not lead to supporter status with the Friends of Swiss Jews; these two forms of support are independent of each other.
