The Board of Directors is the SIG’s strategic management body. It consists of five to seven members including the President.
Members of the Board of Directors are elected by the SIG’s Assembly of Delegates; the President is elected in a separate round of voting. The Board members each bear the strategic responsibility for one of the following portfolios: President's Office and Communications as well as Relations with the Communities, Finance, Financial Assets, Culture, Education and Prevention, Religious Affairs and Social Affairs. The Board of Directors has extensive competences, defines the SIG’s overall strategic goals and informs the SIG’s Central Committee accordingly.
