The SIG is organised as a registered society («Verein»). Its purpose, financial means and organisation are specified in the Articles of Association.
The Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities SIG is the umbrella organisation of 18 affiliated Jewish communities in Switzerland. Its legal form is that of a registered society («Verein») in accordance with Article 60 et seqq. of the Swiss Civil Code (ZGB). The SIG’s purpose, financial means, organisation and the competences of its organisational bodies are specified in the Articles of Association. Changes to the Articles of Association need to be approved by a 2/3 majority at the SIG’s Assembly of Delegates, which also means 2/3 of the affiliated communities .
