The SIG maintains an office for reporting antisemitic incidents. These can be reported via a contact form, by email or over the phone. The incidents will then be analysed and categorised, and advice will be offered to the person(s) concerned.
Have you experienced or observed any antisemitic incident? Have you encountered any antisemitic posts on social media? If so, please report this to the SIG via the contact form provided below, by calling +41 43 305 07 77, or by email to incident@swissjews.ch.
PLEASE NOTE: In the case of threats, violence or potential danger, please call the police! Any report to the SIG can be made at a later stage.
What can I report?
Antisemitic incidents in the German, Italian or Rhaeto-Romanic speaking parts of Switzerland that the reporting person experienced or observed themselves can be reported to the SIG. Such incidents can be physical attacks, verbal abuse, graffiti, letters, messages, or posts and comments discovered in the internet or on social media.
You can make a report even if you are not sure whether the case in point constitutes an antisemitic incident or not. We will be glad to help you clarify and categorise the matter.
Incidents in the French speaking part of Switzerland
Please report any incidents in the French speaking part of Switzerland to: Coordination intercommunautaire contre l'antisémitisme et la diffamation CICAD.
What happens with your report?
You report will be registered, analysed and categorised. Following a verification process, the incident will be included in the statistics for our annual antisemitism report. In any case, you will receive feedback from us. We will also be happy to advise you if you have any further questions or would like some support to help you cope with the incident. All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality. The anonymity of all those concerned is guaranteed.
Why is it important to report an incident?
The SIG depends on reports of antisemitic incidents by victims or witnesses in order to gain an overview of antisemitism in Switzerland, to analyse the situation and to produce its annual antisemitism report. The insights of this analysis provide politicians, social institutions and NGOs with a better understanding of the situation and help them design their measures against antisemitism, racism, hatred and prejudices accordingly. The SIG, too, incorporates the findings in its own education and prevention programmes.
