Report on Antisemitism 2023 by the SIG and the GRA
The SIG and GRA antisemitism report compiles and analyses the occurrence of antisemitic incidents in the German-, Italian- and Romansh-speaking regions of Switzerland, making it possible to evaluate the nature and extent of antisemitism in the country.
The SIG publishes a Report on Antisemitism every year in collaboration with the GRA Foundation Against Racism and Antisemitism. The report compiles and analyses occurrences of antisemitic incidents in the German-, Italian- and Romansh-speaking regions of Switzerland. Incidents are reported to the SIG via the form on its website, or by phone or e-mail. The SIG records other incidents by actively monitoring the media, internet and social media. To evaluate and analyse the individual cases, the SIG refers to the definition of antisemitism and illustrative examples provided by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance IHRA.
Combating antisemitism: measures for prevention and education
Combating and preventing antisemitism are key tasks among the activities of the SIG. The antisemitism report gives the association itself, politicians, educational institutions, the media and the population in general a picture of the extent of antisemitism in Switzerland and how it is evolving. The report serves as a basis for developing suitable measures for prevention, education and criminal prosecution.
The full version of the Report on Antisemitism by the SIG and the GRA is available in German and French. From 2018 onwards, there are also summaries in English. As of 2022, the full Report on Antisemitism will also be published in English. Choose the relevant language version of the website to access the full report.
